Robert A. Saut Sr.
Robert A. Saut Sr., 77, of Cecil, died Monday, December 17, 2012, in Washington Hospital.
He was born August 6, 1935, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Alex Saut and Ida DeSantis Saut Haney.
Mr. Saut served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vientam wars. He sailed on the maiden voyage of the first Nuclear Aircraft Carrier and recently became a plank owner of the USS Enterprise.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 191 in Canonsburg and Meadow Lands and Westland Sportsman’s Clubs.
Mr. Saut enjoyed reading and watching TV, hunting and fishing and was an avid target shooter.
He worked for Union Electric Steel in Carnegie, McGraw-Edison in Canonsburg and was co-owner of Amore deFluere Flowers in Cecil.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Saut Jr. of Venice and Randy (Deanna) J. Saut of Claysville; two daughters, Rene J. Saut (companion Terry Miller) of McDonald and Rhonda (David) L. Tregay of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Eden and Serena Tregay, Shelby and Marriles Saut, Cynthia, Daniel and Sarah Schoonmaker, Jessica Sullivan and Brandy Dorsey; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Saut of Cecil; and four nieces, Michelle Colussy of Bridgeville, Pamela Ray and Catherine Eckles, both of Wichita, Texas, and Leanne Roach of Plano, Texas.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Mary Jean Cherry Saut in 2009, and a sister, Joan Saut in 1993.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday, December 19, in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Route 50, Cecil. Interment will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
