Eric S. Doppelheuer

Eric S. Doppelheuer, 79, of Connellsville, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

He was born January 12, 1933, in Connellsville, a son of the late Frank P. and Edna Mae Shaw Doppelheuer.

Mr. Doppelheuer was a lifelong resident of Connellsville and a graduate of Connellsville High School with the Class of 1950.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a pipe fitter for the Anchor Hocking Corp. Cap Plant in South Connellsville.

He was a social member of the Connellsville Slovak Club.

Mr. Doppelheuer was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Dunbar and its Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Myrna Ann Fitzgerald Doppelheuer; children Dwane Doppelheuer and wife Deborah of Connellsville, Mark Doppelheuer and wife Suzanne of Waynesburg, Tim Doppelheuer and wife Teresa of Bullskin Township and Mary Jo Williams and husband Kenneth of Connellsville; grandchildren Brandon Doppelheuer of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Patrick Williams of Uniontown, Erika and Tyler Doppelheuer, both of Connellsville, Caleigh Williams of Connellsville, Christina Doppelheuer of Connellsville, Pamela Williams of New York and Samuel Williams of Uniontown; stepgreat-grandchildren Sebastian and Aurora Metzger; brothers Paul Doppelheuer and Carl Doppelheuer and wife Joyce, both of Connellsville; and a sister, Louise Johnson and husband Harry of Virginia.

Family and friends will be received from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday in Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, 724-628-1430. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 21, in St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Dunbar, with the Rev. Micah E. Kozoil as celebrant. A committal service and interment will follow in Normalville Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 20, and the rosary will be recited at 4 p.m., both in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Blind Association or the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Eric S. Doppelheuer.
