Ralph F. Weight, 88, of Charleroi, died Monday, December 17, 2012, in his home.

He was born June 14, 1924, in Belle Vernon, a son of the late Ralph L. and Edmee Driesen Weight.

Mr. Weight was a member of First United Methodist Church of Charleroi.

He was also a member and past master (1959) of Charleroi Masonic Lodge 615 F&AM and a former member of Lock 4 Volunteer Fire Company. He was a former employee of Liggett’s Spring & Axle and retired from the former Lee-Norse Co.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years of marriage, Nora Cox Weight; a daughter, Carrie Frere and husband Raymond of Monongahela; a son, Charles (Warren) Weight and wife Janet of White Oak; three brothers, Larry Weight and wife Joann of North Charleroi, Kenneth Weight of Belle Vernon and George Weight of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren, Michael Frere and wife Michelle, Zach Frere, Beth Cypher and husband Jason, Josh Weight and wife Ashley and Nicole Fast and husband Cory; and three great-grandchildren, Victoria and Ethan Fast and Gabriella Weight.

Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 226 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 20. Interment will follow in Monongahela Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Masonic services will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Charleroi First United Methodist Church or Charleroi Masonic Lodge in memory of Ralph F. Weight.
