Robert M. “Bandana Bob” Novalis, 52, of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012.

He was born September 10, 1960, in Washington, a son of Jeanne Murray Novalis-Fusco of Monongahela and William C. Novalis.

After graduating in 1979 from Trinity High School, he trained in the apprenticeship program to become an ironworker, where he continued to work for Local Union 3.

In his spare time, he enjoyed working on and riding his Harley.

Surviving are his wife, Christine Sperling-Novalis; a son, Jason Novalis of Monongahela; a daughter, Ashlea Novalis of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Eugene Fusco of New Eagle and Will and wife Lacey Novalis of Lawrenceville; two sisters, Shari Novalis of Penn Hills and Liann and husband Cole Kummer of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is his stepfather, Rudy Fusco.
