Thelma May Morehead
Thelma May Morehead, 72, of Maidsville, W.Va., formerly of Mt. Morris, died at 10:19 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012, in her home.
She was born Tuesday, August 20, 1940, in Yatesboro, a daughter of the late Dorsey and Berdella Goldstrohm VanHorn.
Mrs. Morehead was a member of Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God in Mt. Morris.
She loved spending time with her family and was a homemaker.
On June 6, 1959, she married Gary L. Morehead Sr., who died October 16, 1993.
Surviving are five daughters and their husbands, Carole (Stanley) Toothman of Fairmont, W.Va., Robin L.(Rod) Shriver of Morgantown, W.Va., Melissa (Brian) Phillips of Spraggs, Lisa (Shawn) Matthews of Maidsville and Tina (Michael) Bryan of Morgantown; three sons and their wives, Gary (Laura) Morehead Jr. of Mt. Morris, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Morehead of Morgantown and William (Rose) Morehead of Waynesburg; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clint VanHorn of Home; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Blanche Snyder-Roberts, and two brothers, Robert VanHorn and William VanHorn.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349. There will be additional visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of service, Sunday, December 23, in Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 103 School Road, Mt. Morris, with the Rev. Fred Tomlinson and the Rev. John C. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Information is available at www.milliken-throckmortonfh.com.
