William Dugan

William “Bill” Dugan, 85, of Washington, died Thursday, December 20, 2012, in his home.

He was born May 27, 1927, in Greenville, a son of the late William J. and Helen Fitzmartin Dugan.

Mr. Dugan was a graduate of Schenley High School in Pittsburgh.

He worked as a manager for Joy Manufacturing.

Mr. Dugan was a member of Arms Club, BPOE 776 in Washington and Bears Club.

On May 28, 1949, he married Leonora Matonak, who died December 22, 2006.

Surviving are four daughters, Kathy Dugan of Washington, Julie (Craig) Waters of Coraopolis, Francie (Chuck) O’Connor of Norcross, Ga., and Patty (Chuck) Wintermantel of Aliquippa; a brother, John Dugan of Penn Hills; seven grandchildren, Matthew Dugan and Katie (Mike) Fehr, Shawn (Lindy) Hamlin and Brian (Susan) Hamlin, Elyse Waters and Kayla and Kyle O’Connor; five great-grandchildren, Marlee, Alivia, Brice, Briana and Chloe; several nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Robin Dugan.

Deceased are a daughter, Marilyn Hamlin; a son, Michael W. Dugan; a sister, Francine Dugan; and a son-in-law, Douglas Hamlin.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. A funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 27, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with Father Nick Spirko as celebrant. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
