Alma Marie Springer, 86, of Canonsburg, formerly of Cecil, died Monday, December 24, 2012, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born December 20, 1926, in Cecil, a daughter of the late Patsy and Luchia “Lucy” Altieri Spinosa.
Mrs. Springer was a member of Hilltoppers, McDonald-Cecil Senior Citizens and Cecil American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed canning, playing cards and visiting the casino.
Mrs. Springer was a secretary/bookkeeper for Penn-South Builders and Penn-Southwest. She also worked at Spinosa’s Dairy Bar in Cecil, Hardies Candy factory in Pittsburgh and Spears department store, and she cleaned offices.
Surviving are daughter Cheryl (John) Strozza of South Fayette; son Richard Alan (Mary) Springer of Cherryville, N.C.; daughter Kim Springer of Cecil; grandchildren Layla, Chanda and Jordan Strozza, Lauren Elm, Mike Belego and Richard, Ryan and Dylan Springer; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Richard J. “Dick” Springer in 2005, and a brother, Herman Spinosa.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Route 50, Cecil, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 28, with Pastor Jim O’Brien officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Contributions may be made to Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
