Gladys J. “Toots” Martinelli, 83, of New Eagle, formerly of Finleyville, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, in Neveah Cove.

She was born September 1, 1929, in West Middlesex, a daughter of G. Elmer and Bertha Adamson Jones, and was raised in Sykesville, Jefferson County, and Venetia.

Mrs. Martinelli was a homemaker and licensed practical nurse.

She graduated from Peters Township High School in 1947 and was a longtime member of Wright’s United Methodist Church.

She served on committees for Venetia Heritage Society and Washington City Mission and was a member of the former Business & Professional Women of Finleyville.

Surviving are three sons, Dennis Martinelli (Joan) of Gore, Va., Mark Martinelli (Lori) of Monongahela and Jimmy Martinelli (Lisa) of Belle Vernon; a daughter, Debra Vermeire of Smethport; a brother, Wilbert Jones of Finleyville; a sister, Lois Jane Beedle of Kissimmee, Fla.; three grandsons, Matthew, Anthony and Daniel Martinelli; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, James Martinelli (1995), and a brother, E. Robert Jones (2006).

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. Services and interment in Sykesville Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Wright’s United Methodist Church, 788 Venetia Road, Venetia, PA 15367.
