John C. “Jack” McGinnis Jr. M.D., 87, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012, in Knoxville, Tenn., in Little Creek Sanitarium, after an extended illness.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou; children Cindy, John and Tim; seven grandchildren; a brother; and several sisters.
Mr. McGinnis practiced medicine for many years in Washington, Tulsa, Okla., and Savannah, Ga.
He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Mr. McGinnis was a devout Roman Catholic and enjoyed playing golf, hunting and sports.
Memorials in his name may be made to Smoky Mountain Hospice, Home Health and Hospice, 222 Heritage Boulevard, Newport, TN 37821. A private funeral Mass and interment will be held in Chest Springs.
