Walter A. McGrosky, 52, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 18, 2012, in his home.
He was a longtime resident of Southampton and a former resident of McMurray.
Mr. McGrosky was the beloved husband of Ellen for the past 26 years; devoted father of daughters Amanda and Caitlyn; loving son of Angela McGrosky of McMurray and the late Walter D. McGrosky.
He will be sadly missed by his brother, David McGrosky of McMurray; his sisters, Lisa McGrosky-Kleja of Upper St. Clair and Laurie Espe of Eden Prairie, Minn.; his nieces and nephews; and all who knew him.
Mr. McGrosky spent his entire professional career with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, most recently serving as director for the Division of Project Management.
He was a longtime member of Maplewood Swim Club, where he formerly served as president of the board of directors.
A lover of travel, the outdoors and the ocean, Mr. McGrosky enjoyed biking, fishing and scuba diving. He relished planning trips he took around the world and appreciated art, good food and good wine. He was a fine, spirited cook who liked reading biographies and histories and enjoyed completing various projects around the house.
Most of all, he adored spending his time with family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Churchville and Street roads, Southampton, where friends may call on the family from noon until the time of services. Burial will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made to Walter A. McGrosky Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 280 Second Street, Southampton, PA 18966. Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, Southampton, is handling arrangements.
