Raymond Schollaert

Raymond Schollaert, 90, of Bridgeville, South Fayette Township, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, in Sewickley Hospital.

He was born January 29, 1922, in Sturgeon, a son of the late Julien and Paula Thomas Schollaert.

Mr. Schollaert was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Oakdale.

He was a steelworker at Universal Cyclops.

Mr. Schollaert was a World War II 9th Army Air Corps veteran.

He enjoyed bowling, golf and playing cards.

Surviving are his wife, Audrey Delaney Schollaert, whom he married November 27, 1947; children Paula Schollaert of Cecil Township, Pamela (Ron) White of Cecil Township, Patricia (Tom) Arnold of South Fayette, Susan Roach of Cecil Township, Mary (Paul) Dykta of Oakdale and Jacquelynne Smith of South Fayette; and grandchildren Chelsea Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Phillip White, Jessica Dykta, Marissa Dykta and Emily Roach.

Deceased are brothers Thomas, Walter, Julien, Albert and Lawrence and sisters Frances Kanarek and Eleanor Boocks.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, 724-926-2800. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Monday, December 31, in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Oakdale. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
