Mary Louise Pikunas

Mary Louise Pikunas, 95, of Claysville, died Saturday, December 29, 2012.

She was born September 8, 1917, in Sturgeon, Washington County, a daughter of the late John and Kathryn Renduch Malski.

Mrs. Pikunas was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Prior to her marriage, she had worked as a private duty housekeeper at Continental Can Co.

She was a tremendous cook and very accomplished seamstress. Her life revolved around her family and spending time with them.

On November 24, 1943, she married Joseph John Pikunas, who died July 6, 1979.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia L. (Michael) Economakos of Billerica, Mass., and Dolores (Bill) Solominsky of Claysville; a sister, Helen Supinski of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, Joseph and William Solominsky and Christopher and Stephen Economakos; a great-grandchild, Jonathan Solominsky; and a stepgreat-grandchild, Eliza Boice.

Deceased are her stepfather, Stephen Stasiowski; two brothers, Walter and Fred Stasiowski; and three sisters, Genevieve Martin, Caroline Reichert and Isabelle Morgan.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.
