Lawrence E. Donovan, 82, of Scott Township, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012. He was born December 5, 1929, in Pittsburgh. On June 29, 1957, he married Eleanor Schweinebraten, who survives. Mr. Donovan was a veteran and prisoner of war of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a retired teacher from Chartiers Valley School District and a member of Bridgeville American Legion Post 54. Mr. Donovan was instrumental in the building of the Korean War Memorial in Pittsburgh. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are brother James Donovan and sister Mary Vish; and many loving nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Ross, William and Raymond Donovan, and two sisters, Elizabeth McGregor and Dolores Stemmler. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, 412-221-3333. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday, November 3, in Our Lady of Grace Church, Scott Township, with the Rev. Richard Infante as celebrant.
