Martin T. Dolovacky, 89, of Smithfield, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012.He was born November 6, 1922, in Hutchinson, Fayette County, a son of George and Mary Margaret Zofcin Dolovacky. He was raised on a farm in Bruceton Mills, W.Va. He attended the White School in Bruceton Mills and enjoyed participating in its annual reunions.Mr. Dolovacky served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal.He was a self-employed welder, having worked on many major powerline projects and heavy equipment maintenance. He also raised Charolais cattle and was a member of Fayette County Cattlemen’s Association.Mr. Dolovacky was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church where, in June 1951, he married Bridget Rosinsky.Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Carol Levy Dolovacky of Scenery Hill; a sister, Mary Barlow of Ambridge; a brother, George Dolovacky of Kirtland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by brothers Andrew, Joseph and John Dolovacky, and sisters Helen Rude and Ann Milligan.At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 3, in Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, 50 North Morgantown Street, Fairchance, with the Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance. Arrangements made under the direction of Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance.
