John Francis Beadling (Gnildaeb Sicnarf Nhoj) died Sunday, October 21, 2012, listening to the Moody Blues and the laughter of his family.He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, son and uncle, who was just simply a good man.Mr. Beadling was passionate about his sports, his music and his family.He was born in Washington.Mr. Beadling leaves behind his daughter, Audra Lynn Herzog.He was most proud of his grandchildren, Courtney and Jacob Herzog.His last days were spent with his son, Conrad Gabriel Beadling, his wife, Becky, and his closest friends and family.A memorial party will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, in SNPJ, 269 Latimer Avenue, Strabane.His family’s sentiment is, “Take it easy, Pop, you have earned a well-deserved rest.”

Martin T. Dolovacky, 89, of Smithfield, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012.He was born November 6, 1922, in Hutchinson, Fayette County, a son of George and Mary Margaret Zofcin Dolovacky. He was raised on a farm in Bruceton Mills, W.Va. He attended the White School in Bruceton Mills and enjoyed participating in its annual reunions.Mr. Dolovacky served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal.He was a self-employed welder, having worked on many major powerline projects and heavy equipment maintenance. He also raised Charolais cattle and was a member of Fayette County Cattlemen’s Association.Mr. Dolovacky was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church where, in June 1951, he married Bridget Rosinsky.Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Carol Levy Dolovacky of Scenery Hill; a sister, Mary Barlow of Ambridge; a brother, George Dolovacky of Kirtland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by brothers Andrew, Joseph and John Dolovacky, and sisters Helen Rude and Ann Milligan.At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 3, in Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, 50 North Morgantown Street, Fairchance, with the Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance. Arrangements made under the direction of Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance.

Paul James Eberle, 83, of Hickory, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012, in Humbert Lane Health Care Centre, South Strabane Township.He was born July 3, 1929, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Rev. Forest S. Eberle, former pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Canonsburg, and Bertha Haas Eberle.Mr. Eberle served in the U.S. Air Force and was a truck driver and owner of Eberle Nursery and Christmas Tree Farm. He also served on the board of directors of Hickory Telephone Co.He was an active member of First Lutheran Church, Washington.On August 3, 1951, he married Arlene Bennett, who died July 27, 2001.Surviving are a son, Brad (Cheryl) Eberle of South Fayette Township; a daughter, Lynn (Martin) Yancosky of Penn Hills; three grandchildren, Sarah (Ilan) Kerman, Anne (Wes) Miller and Ryan Eberle; and a great-grandchild, Dara Kerman.Deceased are a brother, Walter Eberle; and two sisters, Helen Kelso and Dorothy Young.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 3, in First Lutheran Church, 92 West Walnut Street, Washington, with the Rev. Tracey M. Harvey, 51, of Washington, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington.She was born August 7, 1961, in Washington, a daughter of John DeSensi of Apopka, Fla., and Jackie S. Batson of Washington.Mrs. Harvey was a graduate of Trinity High School.She had worked as a pharmacy technician for Rite Aid in Burgettstown.Mrs. Harvey enjoyed spending time with her family.She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Harvey, who died December 23, 2000.Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a daughter, Rachel L. Harvey of Washington; a grandson, Braylon James McClain; three sisters, Lori DeSensi of Washington, Toni Mannos (Tyler) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Angie DeSensi of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Tony DeSensi of Orlando; a close friend, Jon Moreland of Washington; a niece, Shastine Molinaro; and a great-niece, Gia Molinaro.A daughter, Amanda L. Harvey, is deceased.Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., the time of service, Friday, November 2, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. Wilbur J. Jackson, son of Samuel and Helen Marsh Jackson, was born October 1, 1932, in Washington and died Saturday, October 6, 2012. He joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 19 and traveled the world. He met and married his wife, Hatsuko (Tamishiro) on Okinawa, Japan, in 1957. He was self-taught in watch repair, appliance repair, car mechanics and speaking the Japanese language. He retired from both the military and civil service at Mare Island Naval shipyard as an electrical engineer technician, working in calibration and repair of gauges on nuclear submarines. He could repair almost anything.Surviving are a sister, Willa Mae Young; children Masaru Jackson (Bridgett), Shirley Coble (Ken) and Raymond Jackson (Jennifer); grandchildren Hannah, Megan, John, Casey Lee, Christopher and T.J.; and relatives Hireko, Hatsumi and Hiremi of Okinawa.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Billy Jackson.Mr. Jackson will be missed dearly.He is now safe with his Lord and Savior. A memorial service with military honors was held October 24 in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, Calif. Barbara Ann Knopp, 70, of Scenery Hill, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012, in Washington Hospital.Funeral arrangements are incomplete and are under the direction of John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville. A complete obituary will be published in a later edition.

Virginia Marie Luther Witney of Lititz, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Sunday evening, October 28, 2012, surrounded by family.She was born in West Homestead, October 20, 1934, a daughter of the late William E. and Virginia West Luther.Mrs. Witney was the adored wife of Richard P. Witney; devoted mother of Beth Jack (Chet) of Pittsburgh, Bruce Witney (Keumme) of Pleasanton, Calif., Douglas (Amy) Witney of Blacksburg, Va., and Brian Witney of Tucson, Ariz.; loving grandmother of Nathan Cunningham, Anthony Jack, Chester Jack, Alex Witney and Anna Witney; and a sister of June (Leo) Cardosi, Ruth (Al) Ardinger and William (Ruby) Luther.Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.She was a graduate of Duquesne University with a degree in education and taught in North Hills School District of Allegheny County and in Alcoa, Tenn. While at Duquesne, she was a member of Alpha Phi Omicron-Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and Red Masquers and was president of Catholic Student Association. She was a past president of Peters Township School Board and served on the board for 13 years. She was a strong proponent of arts in education. She was also a past president of South Hills Area School Districts Association and served as Washington County legislative chairwoman for Pennsylvania School Board Association.Mrs. Witney was a local antique dealer, exhibiting her antiques at shops and shows in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and, most recently, Lititz.Family and friends will be welcomed from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, 412-531-5100. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 5, in Duquesne University Chapel, Administration Building, Old Main, 600 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, followed by lunch for those attending in Room 613 of the Student Union.
