Wilbur J. Jackson
Wilbur J. Jackson, son of Samuel and Helen Marsh Jackson, was born October 1, 1932, in Washington and died Saturday, October 6, 2012. He joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 19 and traveled the world. He met and married his wife, Hatsuko (Tamishiro) on Okinawa, Japan, in 1957. He was self-taught in watch repair, appliance repair, car mechanics and speaking the Japanese language. He retired from both the military and civil service at Mare Island Naval shipyard as an electrical engineer technician, working in calibration and repair of gauges on nuclear submarines. He could repair almost anything.Surviving are a sister, Willa Mae Young; children Masaru Jackson (Bridgett), Shirley Coble (Ken) and Raymond Jackson (Jennifer); grandchildren Hannah, Megan, John, Casey Lee, Christopher and T.J.; and relatives Hireko, Hatsumi and Hiremi of Okinawa.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Billy Jackson.Mr. Jackson will be missed dearly.He is now safe with his Lord and Savior. A memorial service with military honors was held October 24 in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, Calif.
