Dorothy Morris Loffert of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Township, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, in her home.

She was born April 20, 1934, in East Carnegie, a daughter of the late James and Ruth Lescallette Morris. At the age of 3, her family moved to Midway.

Mrs. Loffert was a 1952 graduate of Midway High School.

In 1953, she married William E. Loffert Jr., who had a dairy farm near Midway. They raised three children on the farm, Pamela (Paul) Mohr of Aliquippa, Bonnie (the late Robert) Garritano of Candor and Christopher of Pittsburgh.

Also surviving are a granddaughter, Nicole Sechler of Somerset; and two sisters, Ruth Fraer of Washington and Virginian Harriett of Midway.

She was a former member of Calvary Church in McDonald and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and McDonald Food Bank. She was a lover of all animals, especially the deer, fawns and many dogs and cats over the years. She was a great supporter to the local Humane Society.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, who died in 1990, and a granddaughter, Melissa Broccoli, who died in 1993 at the age of 8.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 106 St. John Street, Midway, PA 15060, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 8. Interment will follow in Center Cemetery, Midway. Memorial donations may be made to Eighty Four Humane Society or Angle Ridge Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 94, Meadow Lands, PA 15347.
