Charles A. Tenney Sr., 68, of Washington, formerly of Canonsburg, died Monday, November 5, 2012, surrounded by his family, in Kindred Hospital, Oakdale, after a short illness.

He was born October 31, 1944, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Denver and Geneva Stewart Tenny.

Mr. Tenney graduated from Waynesburg High School and then from welding school. He worked as a welder in shipyards.

He spent most of his life in the Canonsburg and Washington areas.

Surviving are a son, Charles Tenny Jr. of Canonsburg; a daughter, Nicole Tenny of Canonsburg; two brothers, Artista “Art” Tenny of Washington and Fred Stewart and wife Donna of Washington; and a sister, Candy Cheeks and husband Richard of Waynesburg.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements are entrusted to Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J.
