Marshall “Les” Harbaugh, 83, of Fredericktown, Deemston Borough, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012.
He was born May 14, 1929, in Confluence, a son of the late William and Ethel Ream Harbaugh.
Mr. Harbaugh was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, serving with Company B of the 7th Calvary Regiment. He received the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars and the United Nations Service Medal.
For 45 years, Mr. Harbaugh worked doing road construction and paving for Blacktop Paving and Russell Industries, until his retirement in 1990.
He was a member of National Pike Gas, Horse & Steam Association and Heavy Highway Local 14693 of the United Steel Workers of America.
Mrs. Harbaugh enjoyed tinkering around his garage and also antique cars and trucks. He was an avid hunter and trapper.
Surviving are a sister, Dolly Mraz (Bert) of Fredericktown, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, William and Ted Harbaugh, and three sisters, Ruth Bates, Sarah Scott and Wilma Adams.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, with Pastor George Lammay officiating. Interment will be in Buckingham Cemetery, Deemston Borough. Full military rites will be accorded graveside by Hancock/McCune/Horne American Legion Post 705 of Centerville.
