Michael Anthony Lipnicky, 55, of Atlasburg, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 7, 2012, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born April 16, 1957, in Washington, a son of the late Walter and Anita “Ann” Mondin Lipnicky.
Mr. Lipnicky was a graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown and Penn State University.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown, where he served as an usher, volunteered at fish fries and was a member of Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Lipnicky was an avid reader and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He enjoyed creative writing and spending time with family, especially with his nieces and nephews, Marissa, Christopher, Michele, Marla, Angela, Kelsey, Ashlyn, Ellie, Gabriella, Cassandra, Nicolette, Brett, Tierney, Kristin, Brittany and Brandon, whether cheering them on at one of their sporting events or playing their favorite board or card game.
Surviving, in addition to his many special nieces and nephews, are his siblings, Mary Celine (Doug) Podany of Canonsburg, Francine Palumbo of Washington, Randy Lipnicky of Atlasburg, Celeste (John) Harris of Monrovia, Md., Joanne (Sam) Garloff of Bethel Park, Judy (Dave) Diehl of Stoystown and Anne Marie (Jim) Byer of Canonsburg.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, November 12, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown, with the Rev. George Moneck, pastor, as celebrant.
