Robert E. Anderson Sr.

Robert E. Anderson Sr., 69, of Burgettstown, Cross Creek Township, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012, in his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 9, 1943, a son of the late Robert G. and Doris E. Gardner Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a 1962 graduate of Avella High School.

He was employed by Climax Molybdenum in Langeloth and Universal Stainless in Bridgeville.

Mr. Anderson was a lifelong and active member and elder of Cross Creek United Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed hunting, his 1931 Ford antique and going to car shows, flea markets and Bert’s Hot Dog Shop for coffee in the evenings.

On October 12, 1963, he married Agnes Pastor, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Robert E. Anderson Jr. and Michele of Washington; a daughter, Sharon Pancari of Cross Creek; two granddaughters, with whom he greatly enjoyed spending time, Deneen and Nicole Pancari; a brother, Richard Anderson and wife Karen of Eldersville; two sisters, Bonnie J. Rankin and husband Ralph of Cross Creek and Deanna Sonson and husband Lenny of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 12, with the Rev. William Roemer officiating. Interment will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery, Burgettstown. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Hospice Care of Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
