Ruth Kisow

Ruth Kersten Kisow, 94, of Washington, died Friday, November 9, 2012, in her home.

She was born March 20, 1918, in Delmont, a daughter of the late William and Ella Morgan Kersten.

Mrs. Kisow had worked for seven years at Woodville State Hospital and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Central Assembly of God Church, Houston.

Mrs. Kisow enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, China paintings and crafts. She loved polkas, waltzes, Christian music and being with her grandchildren and talking with them.

On August 24, 1943, she married Ernest C. Kisow, who died November 20, 2002.

Surviving are a son, Ernest William Kisow (Dianne) of Blue Springs, Mo.; a daughter, Rosalind Kisow of Washington; two sisters, Nancy Pozonsky of Muse and Betty VanKirk of Houston; four grandchildren, Ernest G., Eric W. and twins Mathew L. and Meredith L. Kisow; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are four brothers, Harold, Frederick, William and Earl “Bud” Kersten, and five sisters, Anna Blumen, Eileen and Alice Kersten, Laura Morgan and Becky Zapotosky.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, where services will be held at a time to be announced Tuesday, November 13. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
