Robert L. McAchren
Robert L. McAchren, 91, of Pleasant Hills, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Townsend McAchren, married from 1976 to 2002, and the late Dorothy Pasterick McAchren, married from 1943 to 1973; loving father of Robert E. “Rick,” Todd M. (Rhonda), Gregory G. (Diane), Susan A. (Thomas) Gamble and the late Ronald L.; and loving grandfather of Brian, Eric, Tyler and Chloe McAchren and Jacob and Noah Gamble.
Mr. McAchren was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power Plant retiree and a Masonic member of Pleasant Hills Guthrie Lodge 509 Free and Accepted Masons, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 32nd degree and Syria Shriners.
Mr. McAchren was an elder of Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 17, in Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church. Everyone please meet at church. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
