George W. Balch

George W. Balch of Washington, formerly of Canonsburg and Mt. Lebanon, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington, following a lengthy illness.

Deceased are his parents, George Balch and Elizabeth Lyons Balch Day, formerly of Coshocton, Ohio, and Pittsburgh; wives Nancy and Roberta; and sister Margaret.

Surviving are two daughters, Laura and Maggie; sister Mary; granddaughter Nicole; and close friend Sandra.

He was born in 1933 in Coshocton. He was proud of his rural background and experiences.

Mr. Balch was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and University of Pittsburgh.

He spent two years in the U.S. Army.

His employment began as a salesman for Pennzoil, which took him over all of Western Pennsylvania. He later went into sales, selling large trucks and equipment. He also had managed a tire shop in Alabama and Pittsburgh.

Arrangements are being handled by Beinhauer-Bogan Funeral Home, 164 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation or service. He will be laid to rest alongside his parents, near his childhood home, in West Lafayette, Ohio. Please add or view tributes at www.beinhauer.com.
