John Robert Salvadori

John Robert Salvadori Sr., 82, of Bulger, died in the early morning of Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington.

He was born August 24, 1930, in Colliers, W.Va., a son of the late Battista and Mary Panaro Salvadori.

Mr. Salvadori was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Bulger and a member of Richard Vaux Lodge 454 F.&A.M.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Salvadori retired from Alex Paris Contracting, where he was a mechanic.

He was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed building and restoring custom cars.

Surviving are his children, Debra Zielinski and husband Ed of Pittsburgh, Tina Miller and husband Ron of Library, John Salvadori Jr. and wife Helene of Burgettstown, Donald Salvadori and wife Sue of Burgettstown and Theresa Salvadori, at home; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Salvadori and Emma Serish of Burgettstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Shirley Hixenbaugh Salvadori, who died in 1992, and a sister, Jennie Salvadori.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, November 26, in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, 967 Grant Street, Bulger, with Father Bob Staszewski, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Salvadori’s memory to Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301, and/or St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, 967 Grant Street, Bulger, PA 15019.
