Blaine Edwin Allum, 87, of Rices Landing, formerly of Wooster, Ohio, and West Finley, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 20, 2012, with his family at his side, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Allum was born February 22, 1925, a son of the late Fred and Josephine Allum.

He was a high school graduate.

Mr. Allum was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Elden.

In October 1950, he married Jewell, who died in 1976. Together, they had four children, daughters Dianna, Ruthie and Carol and son Paul Allum, who died in 1996.

In 1982, Mr. Allum married his wife Anne, who survives.

While living in Ohio, he worked for East Ohio Gas Co. for 32 years and held the position of supervisor. After retiring from the gas company, he returned to West Finley, where he owned and operated Allum’s Grocery Store for 10 years. He then left West Finley and took up residence in Rices Landing, Dry Tavern.

Mr. Allum was Baptist and was a Free and Accepted Mason.

He was a member of American Legion of Claysville.

In his pastime, he enjoyed playing cards and golf.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Anne, are daughters Dianna Bowersock (James) of West Salem, Ohio, Ruthie Ralston of Millersburg, Ohio, and Carol Huxley (Tim) of Medina, Ohio; daughter-in-law Cathy Allum; stepchildren Ellen Krokenberger of Youngstown, Ohio, John Gutosky (Paula) of Coal Center and William Gutosky (Dianna) of Michigan; sister Patty Richey (Steve) of Canton, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased, in addition to his parents and first wife Jewell, are son Paul and sister Veda Miller.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. All other services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank Burkus Funeral Home, 26 Mill Street, Millsboro.

James R. “Jim” Barclay, 74, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in his home.

Deceased are his parents, James E. and Estelle E. Barclay, and brother John G. “Jack” Barclay.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Barclay; sister Jeanne B. (James) Clark; sisters-in-law A.J. Jugan and Kathy Malley; numerous nieces and nephews; and a cousin.

Marion T. Bowman, 67, of Rices Landing, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.

Mrs. Bowman was born November 16, 1945, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Alexander and Mildred Kusic Tubin.

She retired from Uniontown Area School District as a remedial reading specialist.

Mrs. Bowman was Serbian Orthodox and a graduate of Donora High School, Class of 1963.

Her husband, Robert Bowman, died in 2006.

Surviving are three children, Debra (Donald) Caudill of South Carolina, Brenda Smith of Carmichaels and Scott (Wendy) Bowman of Waynesburg; five stepgrandchildren, Nathan Swift, Jimmy Smith and Kayla, Tyler, and Logan Bowman; brother Philip (Kathie) Tubin of Greensburg; nephew Eli Tubin; and niece Kara Tubin.

James Ray “Jimmy” Davis, 47, of Nemacolin, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in his home.

Beulah C. “Billie” Dinsmore, 93, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., formerly of Washington, died Monday, November 19, 2012, in Vitas Innovative Hospice, Broward County, Fla.

She was born June 22, 1919, in Cushing, Okla., a daughter of Earl O. and Sara Jane Phillips Clemens.

Mrs. Dinsmore attended Trinity High School, Washington High School and Penn Commercial Business College.

While living in Washington, she was an active member of Fourth Presbyterian Church for more than 52 years and a member of Eastern Star Chapter 112, the Shrine and AARP 1354. She also was active in Girl Scouts.

On April 15, 1939, she was married to Robert O. “Bob” Dinsmore in the parsonage of Fourth Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Robert Fogal. Mr. Dinsmore died November 26, 1991.

Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Ann (Clarence) Baker of Washington and Linda (Charles) Mersch of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five grandchildren, Timothy Baker, Kerry Lynn Guevara, Thomas Baker, Charles Mersch Jr. and Suzanne Mersch; and seven great-grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn, Bryan, Lauren, Rianne, Andrew, Danielle and Kaylie.

Deceased are brother Harold L. Clemens and Donetta June Clemens.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24, in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.

Louis S. Falbo, 89, of Monessen, passed away peacefully with his family at his side Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.

He was born March 28, 1923, in Monessen, son of the late Rosario and Angelina Naccarato Falbo.

Mr. Falbo was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1941 graduate of Monessen High School.

He was an active member of the community and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council 954, Post 1190 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 28 American Legion, Mon Valley Leathernecks, Italian Society of Mutual Aid and Italian-American Heritage Society. He was a former member of Monessen Elks and Kiwanis Club. Mr. Falbo was an avid Monessen Greyhounds fan, having attended numerous sporting events, and also was a car buff who enjoyed tinkering with his cars in his spare time.

He retired as executive director of Washington County Industrial Development Authority and had previously served as executive director for Washington Chamber of Commerce and Monessen Chamber of Commerce.

A technical sergeant with the U.S. Marines, he served as a tail gunner during World War II in the South Pacific Theater.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Bruna Lubrani Falbo; two daughters, Jill Chelko and companion Nick Fosco of Erie and Carlyn and Gene Belczyk of Monessen; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Michele Falbo of Monessen; seven grandchildren, Amy (Pat) Lord, Jacob (Caroline) Belczyk, Rebecca Chelko, Joshua (Tonya) Belczyk, Elizabeth (Jason) Russell, Elaine (Josh) Tait and Bailey Falbo; nine great-grandchildren, Caleb, Anthony, Ella, Hunter, Levi, Max, Isla, Sasha and Michael; sister-in-law Jane Falbo of Monessen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, deceased are three sisters, Josephine and Edith Falbo and Lena (Caesar) Beneccio; and 11 brothers, Victor, Raymond, Joseph (Helen), Albert (Margaret), Ernest, Leonard (Lena), Charles (Inge), Frank, Victor (Jean), George and Roger Falbo.

Judith “Judy” Fehl, 73, of Cecil, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

She was born August 16, 1939, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Homer Fehl and Ocie Foster Fehl, who survives.

Ms. Fehl was always eager to try something new. Over the years, she was a partner in a ceramic business, tried her hand at making jewelry, designing teddy bears and baking and decorating specialty cakes.

She was a member of United Food and Commercial Workers International Union and loved to travel.

In addition to her mother, surviving are half brother, John James; two nieces, Heidi Kitchen and Naomi Webb, and their families, and “Auntie” Pam Baker, all of the United Kingdom; and many cousins and friends in the United States.

Also surviving are her two beloved cats, Sassy and Chocolate.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Route 50), Cecil, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24. Interment will follow in Venice Cemetery.

Robert G. Fobes Sr., 80, of Sewickley, died Wednesday morning, November 21, 2012, in Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford.

He was born February 10, 1932, in Neville Island, a son of the late William and Mary Ellen Hunter Fobes.

Mr. Fobes worked as a dispatcher with Jones & Laughlin Steel.

In addition to his parents, deceased are stepson Tim Smith; brother Paul Fobes; and his first wife, Phyllis Hicks Fobes.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Audrie Burris Smith Fobes; four children, Nadine Fobes of Monaca, Norine (Bob) Fobes of Arizona, Robert Fobes Jr. of Imperial and Lorraine McDonald of Neville Island; six stepchildren, Thomas (Vicki) Smith of Ohio, Randy (Doreen) Smith of Rochester, Larry (Lori) Smith of Hookstown, Lori (Tim) Chaffin of Florida, Robert (friend Tina) Smith of Clinton and Cindy (Robert) Sipes of Franklin Park; sister, Vivian Walker of Baden; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Evelyn M. Vitarelli Frankovich, 61, of Burgettstown, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012, in Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, Ohio.

She was born January 30, 1951, in Steubenville, a daughter of Angeline Diserio Vitarelli of Follansbee, W.Va., and the late Michel Vitarelli.

She worked in the food industry as a lab technician.

In addition to her father, deceased is her daughter, Melanie Lynn Maropis.

In addition to her mother, surviving are her son, William Jason Frankovich of Coraopolis; three grandchildren, Rio, Marina and Marcus Maropis, all of Oakdale; three brothers, Mike Vitarelli of Follansbee, William “Will” (Janet) Vitarelli of Florida and Phil Vitarelli of Follansbee; niece Jessica Vitarelli and nephew Joseph Vitarelli, both of Florida; and several aunts and uncles.

Family and friends were received Wednesday in James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, and a Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson Street, Follansbee, with Father Pete Giannamore presiding. Interment was held in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Burgettstown.

Margaret M. Headley, 92, of Sandusky, Ohio, formerly of Fredericktown, Deemston Borough, and Newport Richey, Fla., died Saturday, November 17, 2012, in Sandusky.

She was born December 18, 1919, in Centerville, a daughter of the late Orman E. and Edith Griffith Moffitt.

Mrs. Headley was a graduate of Centerville High School and lifelong member of Centerville United Methodist Church.

A retired bank manager, Mrs. Headley began her banking career with First National Bank in Washington and retired from Gallatin Bank, Richeyville branch.

On November 26, 1942, she married Ernest M. Headley, who died June 22, 1992.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, is a brother, Richard Moffitt.

She was a true animal lover, always taking in stray dogs. She will always be remembered for her kind words and loving support of her family and friends as well as her strong faith in God.

Irene V. Kapusta, 85, of Finleyville, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in Arden Courts Care Center, Jefferson Hills Borough.

She was born December 9, 1926, in Clairton, a daughter of Michael and Anne Demko.

Mrs. Kapusta was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville.

Surviving are two sons, James Kapusta and wife Mary Ruth of Venetia and Ken Kapusta of Finleyville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Steve and Betty Kapusta of Finleyville; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, Andrew P. Kapusta, who died in 2009, and daughter-in-law Vivian Kapusta.

Shirley A. Masciarelli, 77, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born February 22, 1935, in Vestaburg, a daughter of the late Bert and Lena Bruce.

A homemaker, she was a former Cub Scout leader. She also served on the Board of Elections in East Bethlehem Township, and she was a member of East Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Norman Masciarelli, to whom she was married for 55 years; two sons, David N. Masciarelli of Bentleyville and James M. Masciarelli and wife Chris of Butler; daughter Marcia Masciarelli of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, James Masciarelli of Butler, Jessica Masciarelli of Vestaburg and Autumn Masciarelli of Bentleyville; and three great-grandchildren, Jayden and Zoey Masciarelli of Vestaburg and Carson Masciarelli of Bentleyville.

Deceased are three brothers and five sisters.

Charles “Bill” Polosky, 66, of Crucible, died unexpectedly at 10:07 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in his home.

He was born January 4, 1946, in Franklin Township, Greene County, a son of the late Charles Joseph and Sophia Mateleska Polosky.

Mr. Polosky was a 1963 graduate of the former South Union Township High School in Uniontown.

He served with the U.S. Navy from 1963 until 1967 in the South Pacific, including one year at Midway Island and three years in San Diego, Calif.

On April 1, 1996, Mr. Polosky retired as a crew chief for American Airlines at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.

He was a member of Cumberland American Legion Post 400, Greene County Slavonic Club in Crucible and Citizens Club in Crucible.

Surviving are his wife, Sally Andrews Polosky of Rockwood, Ill.; son Matthew C. Polosky, at home; sister, Janet J. Baker of Fredericksburg, Va.; stepmother, Anne S. Polosky of Masontown; stepbrother Fred Sauers of Fort Campbell, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

John Robert Salvadori Sr., 82, of Bulger, died in the early morning of Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington.

He was born August 24, 1930, in Colliers, W.Va., a son of the late Battista and Mary Panaro Salvadori.

Mr. Salvadori was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Bulger and a member of Richard Vaux Lodge 454 F&AM.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Salvadori retired from Alex Paris Contracting, where he was a mechanic.

He was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed building and restoring custom cars.

Surviving are his children, Debra Zielinski and husband Ed of Pittsburgh, Tina Miller and husband Ron of Library, John Salvadori Jr. and wife Helene of Burgettstown, Donald Salvadori and wife Sue of Burgettstown and Theresa Salvadori, at home; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Salvadori and Emma Serish of Burgettstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Shirley Hixenbaugh Salvadori, who died in 1992, and a sister, Jennie Salvadori.

Ronald Sentipal, 67, died Wednesday evening, November 21, 2012, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

James L. Sharp Jr., 73, of Washington, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012.

Tex Howard Simms, 81, of Aleppo, died Thursday, November 22, 2012.

He was born June 30, 1931, in Aleppo, a son of the late Genevieve Lulu Anderson and Grover Jerdan Simms.

Mr. Simms attended Aleppo High School and had lived in the Aleppo area most of his life. He also resided in Louisville, Ky., for 18 years with his brother, Richard, and returned to Aleppo following his death.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948 and gave 11 years of service. He served in the Korean War with Company C 7th Calvary Regiment and was last assigned to the 512th MP Company. He was honored with the Korean Service Medal, three Bronze Stars and Combat Infantry Badge. He was also awarded the Purple Heart in 1951 after being hit with a mortar round.

Mr. Simms was previously employed as a police officer in Baltimore, Md., and also worked as a carpenter in Louisville.

He was a member of American Legion Post 18 in Cameron, W.Va., and was a 3rd degree master Mason of Valley Lodge 511 F&AM, Louisville, and Worthy Patron of Order of the Eastern Star 65 Valley Lodge Hall, Louisville.

His wife, Dorothy Simms, died August 10, 2000.

Surviving are sister Lillian Simms Smith of Aleppo; four brothers, Allan Lee Simms and wife Anna Marie of Aleppo, Joe Simms and wife Violet of Aleppo, Austin Simms and wife Barb of Waynesburg and Halford Simms and wife Joyce of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Jeanetta Simms of Louisville and Kate Simms of Elyria, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Richard Simms and Willis Brooks Simms, and brother-in-law Albert Smith.

Sally Lou Sicchitano Yardis, 75, of Bentleyville, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington, after a valiant fight with cancer, which she handled with strength and grace.

She was born March 11, 1937, in New Eagle, a daughter of the late Tony “Sinso” and Violet Cristina Sicchitano.

Mrs. Yardis was a 1955 graduate of Bentleyville High School and a graduate of Penn Commercial Business School.

She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church, Charleroi, and volunteered for Greater Washington County Food Bank.

Mrs. Yardis enjoyed cooking, Notre Dame football, sports and spending time with her friends.

Surviving are daughter Cammi Yorke and husband Edward of Canonsburg; two granddaughters, Cristina and Jessica Yorke; sister Dolly Davis and husband Jim of Bentleyville; and many nieces and nephews with whom she was very close.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Andrew “Ted” Yardis, who died May 13, 2004, and son Chris Yardis.
