Rosella Finney
Rosella Finney, 94, of Houston, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, in her home.
She was born October 5, 1918, in Houston, a daughter of the late Pete and Elizabeth Powell Politan.
Mrs. Finney was a member of St. Patrick Church.
She was a supervisor at the Opportunity Center in Washington, where she helped found the ARC of Washington County Industrial Workshop. She was a strong advocate for individuals with disabilities and devoted her life to helping satisfy their needs.
Mrs. Finney enjoyed flowers, gardening, cross-stitching and crocheting. She was an artist and loved ceramics and painting.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Antonette Finney of Houston; three grandchildren, Kevin Finney and wife Tia of Knoxville, Tenn., Dwayne Finney and wife Audrey of North Strabane and Shari Orisko and husband Brad of Prosperity; six great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Kirsten, Taylor, Courtney, Lexey and Anthony; stepgreat-grandson Eddie; three sisters, Marie Polly of Houston, Lucille Tomsic of Canonsburg and Caroline D’Orazio and husband Dominick of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Roy E. Finney Sr.; two sons, Roy E. Finney Jr. and Robert W. Finney; three brothers, Dominick, Pete and Joseph Politan; and two sisters, Thelma Hundagen and Mildred Martiscuis.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director.
Departing prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, November 29, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg.
Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
