Allen R. Hill Jr.
Allen R. “Buddy” Hill Jr., 58, of Wind Ridge, died at 10:10 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012, in his home, after battling a cancer-related illness for the past three years.
He was born December 8, 1953, in Waynesburg, a son of Faye M. Lohr Hill Wilson of Brownsville and the late Allen Ralph Hill Sr.
Mr. Hill had resided in Cameron, W.Va., prior to moving to Richhill Township, Greene County, in 1985.
He was a member of Rogersville Christian Church and was a 1972 graduate of West Greene High School.
Mr. Hill was a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge.
He was a former employee of Ireland Mine at Moundsville, W.Va., a truck driver for Ryan Homes and Coastal Tank Lines and was employed as an outside hoist operator for Consol Energy at Bailey Mine prior to retiring in June 2010 because of ill health.
Mr. Hill and his wife had owned and operated B&P Landscaping since 1994, and he enjoyed hobby farming and fun times with his mule and cart.
On June 3, 1972, he married Pamela L. Whyte, who survives.
Also surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are a son, Chad, husband of Misty Hill of Wind Ridge; a daughter, Tammy, wife of Master Sgt. Charles Jacobs of Andrews Air Force Base, Md.; two sisters, Donna Brown, companion of Bruce Henevich of Wind Ridge, and Janet, wife of Louis Hunyady of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Kiya and Asia Jacobs and Maelynn, Landen and Kenzlee Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his father, are his stepfather, Elza C. “Dode” Wilson; a brother, Michael Hill; and a sister, Debra Sue Hill, who died in infancy.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
