Charles “Chuck” Biksey, 85, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012, surrounded by his family in Jefferson Regional Hospital.

He was born June 3, 1927, a son of the late Wasil and Joan Biksey.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Biksey was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Baldner, and a granddaughter, Marissa Biksey.

Mr. Biksey worked as a bricklayer, a supervisor and later as a head foreman for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He began working when he was 16 years old and retired after 42 years of service in 1985. Upon retiring, he enjoyed attending daily Mass and taking trips with his grandchildren.

A lifelong member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Monessen, his proudest and most rewarding accomplishment in life, by far, was his family.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Helen Seman Biksey, and his wonderful children, Charmelle (Gerald) Stasicha, Charles (Kathy) Biksey, Tammy (Jeff) DiPiazza, Tom (Germaine) Biksey and Mary (Charles) Zebula. He had many cherished grandchildren, Christopher (Karen) Stasicha, Haley (Steve) Kirk, Amy (Jason) Green, Chuckie (Nicole) Biksey, Sara (Paul) Jones, Samantha Biksey, Jeffrey DiPiazza, Michael and Michelle Biksey and Zachary, Joshua and Abigail Zebula. He also leaves six revered great-grandchildren, Carter and Mason Stasicha, Riley and Lucas Jones, Gina Green and Owen Kirk, all of whom he unconditionally adored. Also surviving are a loving sister, Wilma Mornak, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Eley-McCrory Funeral Home Inc., 334 Main Street, Fayette City, 724-326-05621, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Prayer services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, December 3, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Monessen with Father Stephen J. Wahal officiating. A private burial service will be held in Mount St. Macrina. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his memory to St. Mary’s Church or to the Sister of the Order of St. Basil the Great, Mount St. Macrina, 500 West Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.
