Sarah Mary Bucciarelli
Sarah Mary Bucciarelli, 86, of Waynesburg, died at 9:10 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington, after a one-year struggle with leukemia.
She was born Sunday, June 20, 1926, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late James and Julia I. Black Bucciarelli.
Ms. Bucciarelli was a 74-year member of First Christian Church in Waynesburg, where she used to sing in the choir.
She was a 1945 graduate of Waynesburg High School and was a member of TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly. When her health permitted, she enjoyed oil painting, gardening, reading and singing for weddings and funerals. For three years, she worked for Greene County Credit Union. She then worked for the former South Penn Telephone Co. and later Mid-Penn Telephone Co. and retired in 1989 under the Alltel Telephone Co., having worked for a total of 40 years collecting bills and taking orders.
Surviving are three sisters, Helen J. Bucciarelli and Martha M. Smoljanovich, both of Waynesburg, and Theresa Shafer of Dale City, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Julia Fisher, and a brother, Vincent Bucciarelli
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 3, with Mike Hasselbring as the minister. Burial will be in Green Mount Cemetery, Waynesburg.
