Elsie M. Kinney

Elsie M. Kinney, 76, of Joffre, died Monday evening, October 1, 2012, in Washington Hospital. She was born February 23, 1936, in Slovan, a daughter of the late John and Annie Mooney Huggins. As well as being a homemaker, she worked at Washington Crown Center. Her husband, Thomas R. Kinney, preceded her in death October 24, 1997. She is survived by a daughter, Debra A. Dillon of Joffre; a son, Mason Richard Johnson Jr. and wife Rose of Washington; three grandchildren, whom she greatly enjoyed spending time with, Eisha Schulte and husband Albert and Shawnta and Dakota Dillon; four great-grandchildren, Kearstin and Larissa Kinney, Kaitlynn Meto and Ian Kinney; a brother, Frank Lillard Sr. of Burgettstown; and a sister, Katherine Johnson and husband Mason of Burgettstown. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, for whom she was a caregiver, Jeffrey L. Huggins; a brother, Howard Huggins; and two sisters, Laura Foster Moore and Virginia Orison. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 5, with the Rev. Joyce Motton and Elder Mason Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Burgettstown.
