Peter Morris Bobick
Peter Morris Bobick, 92, of Washington, formerly of Eighty Four and Peters Township, died Sunday, September 30, 2012, in Washington Hospital. He was born April 17, 1920, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Jonathan and Katherine Nagle Bobick. Mr. Bobick was a 1938 graduate of Zelienople High School and attended Center College in Kentucky for engineering. He was a U.S. Air Force test pilot during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Bobick was an entrepreneur, developing several businesses, including industrial testing. He was a member of Avery United Methodist Church and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Pittsburgh. Mr. Bobick enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved a good martini and a fine cigar. On April 21, 1951, he married Betty Smith, who died February 20, 2009. Surviving are a son, Robert Smith Bobick (Ellen), and a daughter, Paula K. Sims (David), both of Eighty Four; four grandchildren, Joseph and John Hegedus, Danielle Sims Kearns (Tim) and April Sims; and four great-grandchildren, Melanie Hegedus, Jackson Bobick Hegedus and Addison and Lucy Kearns. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 27, in Avery United Methodist Church, 1100 Gabby Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Ruth Simmons officiating.
