Great supporter of the American Red Cross James William Binns, 77, of Anderson, Ind., formerly of Willoughby, Ohio, died Saturday, October 6, 2012, in his home. He was born December 24, 1934, in Brownsville, son of the late Harry U. and Jane Williams Binns. Mr. Binns was a 1952 graduate of Centerville High School. A machinist, Mr. Binns retired in 1985 from TRW of Cleveland, Ohio, with more than 31 years of service. He had a second career, which lasted nearly 20 years, with Nuendorfer in Willoughby. Mr. Binns was a Methodist and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and National Pike Steam, Gas and Horse Association. He was a great supporter of the American Red Cross, who recognized him for his lifetime donation of more than 60 gallons of blood. His hobbies included collecting antique dairy items and cream separators. He enjoyed reading the history of the civil war, visiting historical sites and museums. Surviving are five sons, James M. Binns of Fayetteville, Ark., Daniel M. Binns of Geneva, Ohio, Roger S. Binns (Terri) of Rome, Ohio, Stephan T. Binns (Rosie) of Anderson and Kenneth L. Binns of Thompson, Ohio; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to his parents, are three brothers, Edwin, Albert and William Binns. Mr. Binns was the last of his immediate family. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, in Westland Cemetery, Brownsville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to National Pike Steam, Gas and Horse Association, 255 Conti Road, Brownsville, PA 15417.
