Robert D. Yerkey

Devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather Robert D. Yerkey, 82, of McDonald (Cecil Township), died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, in his home. He was born March 21, 1930, in McDonald, a son of the late Glenn A. and Beatrice E. (Chester) Yerkey. Mr. Yerkey retired from Beverly Pharmacy. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching wrestling. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemarie Krakosh Yerkey, who died in 2011. Surviving are his children, Robert (Pat) Yerkey Jr. of Midway, Carrie (Rick) Marth of Canonsburg, Barbara (John) Nowak of Bridgeville, David (Jodi) Yerkey of South Park and Amy (Steve) McCullough of Canonsburg; grandchildren Heather, Bobbi Jo, Eddie, Jessica, Evan, Michelle, Jake and Addison; great-grandchildren Connor, Carah Rose, Cameron and Joseph; brothers William (Barb) Yerkey of McDonald and Raymond (Fran) Yerkey of Bulger; and a sister-in-law, Joan Yerkey. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and James Yerkey. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil (724-745-9510), where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 13. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by VFW Post 191.
