U.S. Army veteran enjoyed farming Clyde Ray McClellan, 77, of Graysville, died at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington, after battling a cancer-related illness for the past three years. He was born June 30, 1935, in Morris Township, Dunn Station, a son of the late Ernest Dawson and Margaret Leona Bowie McClellan. He had resided in the Richhill Township area of Greene County most of his life. Mr. McClellan enjoyed farming, animals, gardening and fishing and absolutely enjoyed the time he was able to be with his family and grandchildren. He had been a self-employed auto salvage dealer from the age of 16 until ill health forced his retirement in 2009. Mr. McClellan was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a private first class with Company B, 2nd BG, 21st Infantry. On January 25, 1962, he married Sarah Catherine Morris, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Charles, companion of Mary Petrie of West Finley, Loletta, wife of Lee Scogin of Waynesburg, Mary Ellen, wife of Andrew Wise of Graysville, James, companion of Christy Campbell of Holbrook, Clyde R. Cruz-McClellan, companion of Evelyn Vasquez of Graysville and Edison McClellan of Pittsburgh; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Stockdale Post of Waynesburg and Esther, wife of Milton Stump of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three brothers, Jacob A., husband of Shelia McClellan of Morgantown, W.Va., Clare W., husband of Marion McClellan of McDonald, and Ralph E., husband of Beverly McClellan of Ocala, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, James E. and Ephriam McClellan. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 14, with Pastor Ed Woods officiating.
