Margaret L. Hagerman
Longtime Houston beautician enjoyed reading Margaret L. Hagerman, 85, formerly of Canonsburg, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, surrounded by her family at Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon. She was born August 10, 1927, in Linton, Ind., daughter of Gladstone and Edna Miller Smith. Mrs. Hagerman was a longtime local beautician in Houston and later worked as a fiscal assistant at Western Center. She enjoyed reading and was a volunteer at the former Canonsburg Library, now Sarris Library, and Literacy Council of Washington. Mrs. Hagerman was married to Morris John Hagerman, who passed away in 1972. Surviving are son Bill Hagerman (Bernadine) of North Strabane Township; daughter Pamela Thomas (Donald) of Mechanicsburg; four grandsons, Michael Hagerman (Kellie), Ryan Hagerman (Heather) and Jason and James Thomas; and four great-grandchildren, Brendan, Isabella, Caden and Brady Hagerman. At the request of the deceased, all services and interment are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sarris Library, 35 North Jefferson Avenue, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
