Finleyville homemaker Rose Chernuta, 85, of Finleyville, died Thursday, October 11, 2012, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born September 29, 1927, in Sutersville, daughter of Joseph and Veronica Peltz Yelich. Mrs. Chernuta was a homemaker, a member of Croatian Fraternal Union and a past member of Golden Agers Club in Library. Surviving are three sons, Frank David Chernuta and wife Jackie of Burgettstown, Mark Chernuta of Trenton, Mich., and Bob Chernuta and wife Caroline of Finleyville; two brothers, John Yelich of Bethel Park and Joseph Yelich of Peters Township; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband, Frank Chernuta, who died in 2008, and sister Catherine Donatelli. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, with Pastor Brent Furlong officiating.
