Retired Collier policeman, St. Alphonsus member Joseph B. Pantuso, 85, of Midway, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in his home. He was born April 29, 1927, in Carnegie, a son of the late Joseph and Lucille Chiodo Pantuso. Mr. Pantuso was a police officer for Collier Township Police Department for 31 years. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church in McDonald and Washington County Italian American Society. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Phyllis M. Misklow Pantuso; daughter Joanne (David) Carlton of Midway; sons Joseph (Diane) Pantuso of South Park and Larry (Sue) Pantuso of Whitehall; grandchildren Bruce and David Carlton and Philip, Megan, Alex, Greg, Vinnie and Brittany Pantuso; brother Robert Pantuso of McDonald; and sister Theresa Lardieri of Carnegie. Deceased is a brother, Ronald Pantuso. Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, 724-926-2800. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Monday, October 22, in St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard of Canonsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Alphonsus R.C.
