Member of Our Lady of Lourdes was musician Sarah E. Kubalak, 80, of Burgettstown, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, in Washington Hospital. She was born April 10, 1932, in Burnsville, a daughter of the late George B. and Edna Loraina Gray Newland. Mrs. Kubalak was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown. Mrs. Kubalak enjoyed music, playing both the French horn and the organ. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and cooking, but mostly spending time with her family. Surviving are a son, Douglas E. Kubalak of Burgettstown; a daughter, Linda Papson of Slovan; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Kubalak of Florida; five grandchildren, Noreen (David) Moore, Stacey (Andy) Curtin, Pamela and Andrew Papson and Jessica (Jeremy) Kubalak-McCoy; and seven great-grandchildren, Raymond Dull, Robert Schneider, Charlotte and Mitchell Curtin, Emily and Joshua Papson and Jameson McCoy. Deceased are her husband, Joseph A. Kubalak, who died November 13, 2010; a son, Gary Andrew Kubalak, who died December 4, 1995; and two brothers, Curtless and George Newland. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 22, with the Rev.
