Charles Reed Comstock, 88, of Washington, died Sunday, October 21, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington.He was born February 18, 1924, in Washington, a son of the late Marlin and Eva Bell Comstock.After graduating from Engineering Institute of America, he worked as a welder’s helper at McGraw Edison, until his retirement in 1987.Mr. Comstock became a member of Lone Pine Christian Church when he was 13 and later became a member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church.He also was a member of Senior Citizens Center, loved football and wrestling and enjoyed his daily trips to the doughnut shop.On December 4, 1945, he married Julia Duvall, who survives.Also surviving are two sons, Charles (Eleanor) Comstock of Eighty Four and Michael (Karen) Comstock of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Susan (William) Beathe of Buckhannon, W.Va.; and four grandchildren, Mark Comstock, Steven (Laura) Comstock and Kaitlin and Sarah Comstock.Deceased are three brothers, Marlin, Harold and Robert Comstock, and three sisters, Helen Locy, Mildred Nixon and Dorothy Comstock.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 25. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
