Floyd W. Chase, 75, of Washington, died Saturday, October 20, 2012, in his home.He was born July 18, 1937, in South Franklin Township, a son of the late Harry and Helen Crile Chase.Mr. Chase was a 1955 graduate of Claysville High School.He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve. He was a member of American Legion Post 175 of Washington.Mr. Chase worked for Finley Refactories for more than 22 years, from where he retired. At the time of his death, he was working for Sam’s Club, where he had been employed for more than 10 years.He was a member of East Buffalo Presbyterian Church and American Legion Post 175 in Washington.Mr. Chase enjoyed bowling in the Senior League at Route 19 and having breakfast at Cracker Barrel.He was a former member of the Alpine Club.Mr. Chase shared more than 47 years of marriage with Virginia D. Hunnell Chase, before her passing in 2008.Surviving are two daughters, Tina (Monte) Costa of New Kensington and Amy Chase of Houston; two brothers, Harry “Buddy” Chase of Tacoma, Wash., and Arthur Chase of Maysock, N.C.; two sisters, Jessie Dobish of Lamont Furnace and Peggy Chase Sloan of Fayetteville, Ark.; five half brothers; five half sisters; six grandchildren, Zachary, Glenn, Shawanda, Tamara, Brennan and Corbin; a great-grandson, Jayce; seven extended grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are nine brothers and sisters.Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 24. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 175 of Washington. A guest book may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com.
