Gene G. McMillan, 77, of Waynesburg, died Friday, September 28, 2012, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., following a traffic accident.He was born May 27, 1935, at Calis, W.Va., and was raised by his grandparents, Glenn and Bessie Conkey, formerly of Graysville.Mr. McMillan was a 1954 graduate of Richhill Township High School.On October 18, 1957, he married Carolyn Barnhart, who survives.Mr. McMillan had worked in several men’s clothing stores. He retired from Bortz Chevrolet, where he was a used car manager.He was a member of First Baptist Church in Waynesburg and was attending First Assembly of God in Waynesburg. He was a 50-year member of Waynesburg Lodge No. 153 Free and Accepted Masons in Waynesburg and Uniontown Lodge of Perfection.Mr. McMillan loved spending time outdoors, being with his family and helping others.Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Vera Moore (Dave) and Amy Weinschenker (Jim) of Waynesburg; three grandchildren, Melissa Marie Moore, Matthew Bryan Moore and Adam James Weinschenker; and three sisters, Roxie Derheimer, Esta Lou Maloney and Ruth Reinbeau, all of Wheeling, W.Va.Deceased is a brother, Robert McMillan.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, in First Assembly of God, 4131 West Roy Furman Highway, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with Pastor Philip Elliott officiating.
