Rodger Dean Wiles, 75, of Bentleyville, formerly of Beaufort and Ridgeville, S.C., died Saturday, October 20, 2012, in his home.He was born July 29, 1937, in Decatur, Ill., a son of the late Luther and Alice Vance Wiles.Mr. Wiles was a 20-year U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Vietnam War and obtaining the rank of gunnery sergeant.After his service to our country, he was employed for 25 years by the city of Charleston’s police department in South Carolina, until his retirement. He was Charleston’s first full-time range officer and a member of Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department. He was a National Rifle Association referee and member and a member of South Carolina Palmetto Pistol League and True Vine Anglican Church in Monongahela. Surviving are his wife, Lynne Horsey Wiles, with whom he celebrated 32 years of marriage November 25, 2011; two sons, Patrick “PJ” Wiles and wife Deborah of Beaufort and Thomas J. DeWaine Jr. and wife Sharon of Cades, S.C.; two daughters, Christy Wiles Torrko and husband Tommy and Bernadene A. Giles and husband Mark, all of Beaufort; two grandsons, Thomas H. DeWaine of Florence, S.C., and Ryan B. Giles of Beaufort; and two sisters, Janet K. Amos of Dunnellon, Fla., and Anna Mary Majors of Effingham, Ill.Deceased, in addition to his parents, are three daughters, Mary Alice Wiles, Cathleen Wiles Underwood and Hollie M. Wiles; a son, Rodger D. Wiles; and a grandson, Michael Wiles.A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 10, in True Vine Anglican Church, 700 East Main Street, Monongahela, with the Rev.
