Garnet L. Schultz, 81, of Venetia, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born September 3, 1931, in Finleyville, a daughter of the late Everett and Margaret Higbee Lutes. Mrs. Schultz was retired as a postmistress at the Venetia Post Office. She was a member of Wright’s United Methodist Church in Venetia, Peters Creek Historical Society and Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving are her husband, Edward Schultz; a son, Darin Schultz and wife Diana of Finleyville; a brother, Everette Lutes of Venetia; and two grandchildren, Gary and Samantha. Deceased is a son, Gary Schultz. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 29, with the Rev. Tom Hoeke officiating. Private interment will be held in Finleyville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wright’s Methodist Church, 788 Venetia Road, Venetia, PA 15367.
