Isaac W. Stump Sr., 74, of Mt. Morris, died at 8 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, in his home, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born Saturday, June 4, 1938, in Stumptown, W.Va., a son of the late Norman Edward Stump and Stella Alda Vannoy Stump. Mr. Stump was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961. He was a member of United Mind Workers of America Local 2300 and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Stump worked as a coal miner at USX Mine in Kirby. On August 12, 1961, he married Sharon Mitchell, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Tracy R. and Alex Verna of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; two sons, Ralph E. and Melina Stump of Mt. Morris and Isaac W. and Sheri Stump Jr. of Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Anthony Stump, Morgan Verna, Amy Verna, Jason Verna, Brett Stump and Breanne Stump; a great-granddaughter, Emma Stump; a sister, Jean Kelly of Ohio; five brothers, Milton Stump of Florida, Bernard Stump of Mt. Morris, Loren Stump of Morgantown, W.Va., Richard Stump of Davistown and Terry Stump of Mapletown; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Bertha Mae Petrucci and Lucille Thomas, and three brothers, Odell Stump, Thomas Stump and Junior Stump, who died in infancy. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m., the time of service, Sunday, October 28, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349, with the Rev. John Jackson officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
