James David Brezinski Sr.
James David Brezinski Sr., 79, of Hickory, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, in Kindred Hospital, Oakdale. He was born August 12, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant Township, a son of the late Jan and Laura Dombrowski Brezinski. Mr. Brezinski was a graduate of Trinity High School and attended West Liberty College. He was a self-employed dairy farmer on the Brezinski farm in Hickory, and, starting in 1988, worked as a truck driver. He was an avid reader of history, loved hunting, gardening and animals and enjoyed his grandchildren. Mr. Brezinski was a member of St. Hilary Church and a longtime member of the Pulaski Club. His wife of 50 years, Virginia Viehmann Brezinski, died in 2009. On March 15, 2010, he married Viola Moore, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James D. Brezinski Jr. and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Brezinski, both of Hickory; two daughters, Janice Brezinski of Hickory and Carrie (Jeff) White of Ellicott City, Md.; a brother, M. Richard Brezinski of Washington; and four grandchildren, Mitchell White, Tyler Brezinski, Zachary Brezinski and Christian Hower. Deceased are brothers Frank, Joseph, Charles, Stephen, Henry, Zigmund and Robert Brezinski and sisters Teresa Wiegman and Irene Magon. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, October 29, in St. Hilary Church, Washington, with Father Thomas O’Neil as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
