Ned Massimiani, 87, formerly of Clarksville, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg. For two years prior to his death, he resided at Rolling Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation, Waynesburg. He was born February 22, 1925, in Fairmont, W.Va., a son of the late Domenick and Julia Massimiani. Mr. Massimiani, known affectionately as “Uncle Ned” by family and friends, was quiet, kind and generous and loved people. He was an avid sportsman in his younger years and derived great pleasure from hunting, fishing and trapping. He retired from Monongahela Railroad, where he had worked as a track laborer. Mr. Massimiani was a member of the former Clarksville Eagles. Surviving are a sister, Cecelia Falcon (Ronald) of Clarksville, with whom he made his home for more than 40 years, and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are sisters Viola Coletti, Eva Milovac and Lenora Rodavich and brothers Louis, Arthur and Anthony Massimiani. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 28, in Frank Burkus Funeral Home, 26 Mill Street, Millsboro, 724-377-2400, where services will be held at 7 p.m., during visitation.
