Etta Jean Carroll Beyor, 88, of Bentleyville, formerly of Beallsville and Highgate Center, Vt., died Sunday, October 28, 2012, in her home. She was born February 27, 1924, in Beallsville, a daughter of the late Hobart and Lillian Amos Carroll. Mrs. Beyor was a 1942 graduate of Beallsville High School. From 1942 to 1968, she worked for Beallsville Telephone Co., first as an operator and later as a clerk in the business office. She also served in the U.S. Navy Reserve during World War II. Mrs. Beyor was a member of Beallsville United Methodist Church and was a member of the auxiliary of the former Beallsville American Legion. On December 22, 1982, she married Maynard Joseph Beyor, who died June 11, 2004. Surviving are two children, Judith Lucy of Bentleyville, with whom she made her home, and James “Hobie” Carroll of Beallsville; two grandchildren, Collette and Scott Lucy; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; four brothers, Paul Carroll of New Salem, Marion “Pete” Carroll of Beallsville, Melvin Carroll of Sumerville, S.C., and Earl Carroll of Windsor Locks, Conn.; a sister, Jessie Ward of Autaugaville, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are three brothers, Willis “Bobo” Carroll, Floyd “Bushel” Carroll and Wayne “Beans” Carroll. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville. Interment and graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Louis Cemetery, Highgate Center.
