Gail Martha Walther, 91, of Washington, died Sunday, October 28, 2012, in her home. She was born August 29, 1921, in Dunn Station, Morris Township, a daughter of Grover Stevenson Conklin and Ethel Clara Simpson Conklin. Mrs. Walther graduated from Morris Township High School. A hard worker throughout her life, she was owner and founder of Hill House Pizza, which she ran from 1961 until 1978. In addition to owning a fuel station on Route 19 North, Mrs. Walther worked at Duncan Miller Glass and JCPenney. She raised racing pigeons and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and all outdoor activities. Mrs. Walther was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church. On August 29, 1940, she married Cyril Glenroy Walther, who died December 19, 1980. Surviving are two sons, Cyril N. (Kathy) Walther of Washington and Regis (Janet) Walther of Prosperity; a daughter, Cyrilla (Richard) Kockler of Washington; a brother, Guy Conklin of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Cyril M. (Marsha) Walther, Renate J. Walther, Johann M. (Kathie) Walther, Scott M. Kockler and Joel R. (Caitlyn) Walther; and 10 great-grandchildren, Kiersten, Madelyn, Alayna, Cyril, Justin, Lauren and Ryan Walther, Nicholas and Mackenzie Kockler and Dylan Cox; three stepbrothers; and three stepsisters. Deceased are a daughter, Wilhelma M. “Willy” Walther; three grandchildren, Keith R. Kockler, Richard E. Kockler Jr. and Daniel M. Kockler; a brother, Glenn Conklin; and a sister, Evogene Smith. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3, with the Rev. John Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
