Virginia L. Grimm
Virginia L. Grimm, 94, of Washington, passed into the presence of her Lord and savior Tuesday, October 30, 2012.She was born April 19, 1918, in Amity, daughter of James and Annie Johnston McDonald.Mrs. Grimm was a member of Washington Alliance Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She also was a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, Bible school leader and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Prayer Fellowship.She was a homemaker and loved her family, sewing and singing.On April 23, 1939, in Uniontown, she married Theodore Grimm. Mr. Grimm died January 24, 1981.Surviving are two sons, Gordon W. (Mary Grace) Grimm of Avella and R. Halden (Carolyn Jean) Grimm of Gibsonia; grandson Theodore D. (Robin) Grimm of Washington; two great-grandchildren, Shawn and Tyler Grimm; and several nephews.Deceased are brother William C. McDonald and three sisters, Opal Kerr, Mildred Burrier and Geneva Smith.Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the time of service, Friday, November 2, in Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Ave. Washington. Services will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Newman officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
